These terms govern your use of Cyber Comics Alliance ("CCA", "we", "us", "our"),
the website at cybercomics.org and every feature, app, and service we offer through it. They're written in plain
language on purpose — CCA is a community space for creators, not a corporation, and we'd rather you actually
read this. By creating an account or using CCA you agree to everything below, so please take a moment with it.
01 Acceptance of these terms
By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise accessing or using CCA, you confirm that you have read,
understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and by our
Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference. If you are using CCA on
behalf of someone else, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for them. If you don't agree
with any part of these terms, please don't use the site.
02 Eligibility & age
You must be old enough to form a binding agreement in your country — generally at least 13 years old,
or the higher minimum digital-consent age that applies where you live. If you are under the age of majority,
you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these terms on your behalf.
Some areas of CCA contain mature or adult material and are gated behind an age and access check. By entering
those areas you confirm that you are of legal age to view such material in your jurisdiction and that doing so
is lawful where you are. You are solely responsible for complying with the laws that apply to you.
03 Your account
- You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account.
- One person, one account. Don't create accounts for others, share your account, impersonate anyone, or misrepresent who you are.
- Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
- We may reclaim usernames, including for impersonation, trademark, or inactivity reasons.
04 Acceptable use & community conduct
CCA is built on people creating and sharing together. To keep it safe and welcoming, you agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, stalk, dox, or bully other members, or incite others to do so.
- Post content that is illegal, hateful, or that sexually exploits or endangers minors — this results in an immediate, permanent ban and will be reported to the authorities and relevant organisations.
- Post sexual or explicit content outside the clearly designated, age-gated areas, or post non-consensual intimate imagery.
- Spam, scam, phish, run pyramid or "get rich" schemes, or post unauthorised advertising or solicitation.
- Infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights, or post other people's work as your own.
- Attempt to break, overload, disrupt, scrape, data-mine, crawl, or reverse-engineer the platform, or to circumvent level gates, paywalls, rate limits, or other access controls.
- Upload malware, run automated bots or scripts against the service without permission, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any account, system, or data.
- Cheat, exploit bugs, or use automation to inflate XP, levels, streaks, leaderboards, or rewards.
- Use CCA for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could harm CCA, its members, or third parties.
We may, but are not obliged to, review, moderate, remove, or restrict content and accounts to enforce these
rules. Moderation decisions are made at our reasonable discretion.
05 Your content & the licence you give us
You keep ownership of the art, writing, comments, messages, and other content you create or post ("your
content"). By posting it on CCA you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable licence
to host, store, reproduce, adapt (for example to resize or generate thumbnails), publish, display, and
distribute your content solely on and for the operation, promotion, and improvement of CCA
— for example showing your art on your profile, in guilds, parties, leaderboards, or feeds.
This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for (a) copies already shared or
re-posted by other members, and (b) copies retained in routine backups for a reasonable period or as required
by law. You represent and warrant that you own or have all rights necessary to post your content and to grant
this licence, and that your content doesn't violate these terms or any law.
06 Copyright & takedown requests
We respect intellectual property and expect members to do the same. If you believe content on CCA infringes
your copyright or other rights, email us at
[email protected] with: a
description of the work, a link to the material on CCA, your contact details, and a statement that you have a
good-faith belief the use is not authorised. We will review valid notices and remove or disable infringing
content where appropriate, and we may suspend repeat infringers.
07 Oryx & AI features
CCA includes AI-assisted features — including our assistant "Oryx" — that can generate text,
images, suggestions, grading, and other output. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or unexpected; it is
provided for assistance and entertainment and is not professional, medical, legal, financial,
or fitness advice. You are responsible for how you use AI output, and you should use your own judgement before
relying on it. Don't use AI features to generate illegal content, content that violates section 4, or content
you'll pass off in a way that breaks someone else's rules. We may use prompts and interactions to operate and
improve these features as described in our Privacy Policy.
08 XP, levels, fragments & virtual items
CCA includes progression and reward systems — XP, levels, streaks, fragments, coins, tokens,
inventory items, badges, and similar. These are part of the experience and have no monetary value,
cannot be exchanged for cash, and are not your property. We may adjust, reset, expire, or remove them,
and we may change how progression works, at any time as we develop the platform. Attempting to buy, sell,
trade, or farm these outside the intended in-app mechanics is prohibited.
09 Nova & payments
CCA Nova is an optional paid membership. Payments are processed by our payment provider (Stripe); we never
see or store your full card details. Nova is billed in advance for the period you choose and
renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel any time — you keep Nova benefits
until the end of your current paid period. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and we
don't pro-rate partial periods. Prices, taxes, benefits, and features may change with reasonable notice; if a
change materially reduces what you've paid for, you may cancel. You're responsible for any taxes that apply to
you. We may suspend or end Nova benefits for non-payment or for breaches of these terms.
10 Third-party content & links
CCA links to, embeds, and surfaces media, metadata, and services from third-party sources that we don't own
or control. We don't host that material on your behalf and we don't guarantee its accuracy, availability,
legality, or suitability in your region. Your use of any external service or content is at your own risk and
governed by that third party's own terms and policies. If you believe linked material is unlawful where you
are, do not access it.
11 Our intellectual property
The CCA name, logo, Oryx, and the platform's design, code, text, graphics, and original features are owned
by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal,
non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use CCA as intended by these terms. You may
not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, rebrand, or create derivative works of the platform itself, or use
our branding, without our prior written permission.
12 Privacy
Your privacy matters. How we collect and use data is explained in our
Privacy Policy. You can manage cookies on the
Cookie Consent Tool and exercise your data choices on
Your Privacy Choices. By using CCA you consent to the data practices
described in those documents.
13 Suspension & termination
We may suspend, limit, or terminate your access — with or without notice — if you violate these
terms, if required by law, or if we reasonably believe it's necessary to protect the community, other members,
or the platform. You can stop using CCA and delete your account at any time from your
settings. On termination, the licences you granted for content already shared and
the sections of these terms that by their nature should survive (for example content licences for shared
posts, disclaimers, liability limits, and indemnities) will continue to apply.
14 Disclaimers
CCA is provided "as is" and "as available". We work hard to keep it running, but to the
fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability,
fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the service will be
uninterrupted, timely, secure, error-free, or that content (including AI output and third-party media) will be
accurate or reliable. Any fitness, health, or workout features are for general information only — consult
a qualified professional before acting on them.
15 Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CCA and its operators, owners, and contributors will not be liable
for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of
profits, data, goodwill, or content, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the
service. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability to you for all claims will
not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or USD 50. Some
jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.
16 Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CCA and its operators from and against any claims, damages,
losses, liabilities, and reasonable costs (including legal fees) arising out of or related to your content,
your use of the service, or your breach of these terms or of any law or third-party right.
17 Governing law & disputes
These terms are governed by the laws applicable at the place where CCA is operated, without regard to
conflict-of-law rules, and subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live. Please
contact us first — most issues can be resolved informally. If a dispute can't be resolved that way, you
agree it will be handled by the courts having jurisdiction at CCA's place of operation, except where the law
in your country gives you the right to bring proceedings locally.
18 General terms
- Entire agreement. These terms and the documents they reference are the whole agreement between you and CCA about the service.
- Severability. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
- No waiver. If we don't enforce a right, that's not a waiver of it.
- Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these terms; we may assign ours in connection with a transfer or reorganisation of the service.
- Force majeure. We aren't liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
- Notices. We may give you notices in-app, by email, or by posting on the site.
- Feedback. If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them freely without obligation to you.
19 Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the site evolves. When we make material changes we'll update the "last updated"
date above and, where appropriate, notify you in-app or by email. Continuing to use CCA after changes take
effect means you accept the updated terms; if you don't agree, please stop using the service and delete your
account.
